A passion for beautiful design led Peter Snowdon and Wes Fellows to start Shropshire Design®. Since our very first sale of handmade mango wood furniture from the beautiful island of Bali, we have built fantastic relationships with unique purveyors of home décor in the UK, Europe and Far East who share our passion for beautiful design.
Our style
We live to William Morris's mantra: "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful". We only stock beautiful, glamorous and unique items that we personally adore. Our pursuit for beautiful lighting, mirrors and furniture has taken us across the UK and to the Far East where we source the most exquisite, intricate craftsmanship that has to be seen to be truly appreciated. We don't stock flat packed, ubiquitous furniture - we leave that to identikit high street stores.
Our hand picked collections are seasons ahead of the rest - we've had coverage in numerous cutting edge magazines from Elle Deco, Grand Designs, Ideal Home and Livingetc helping to set the direction for interior design in the UK. You may recognise our items in other high-end homeware boutiques and we have supplied high-end hotels, restaurants and bars across Europe, Dubai and the United States. Our ethos: "for everything your home desires" is a founding principle. We aim for Shropshire Design® to be your first point of call when looking for exquisite, unique, beautiful and glamorous modern furniture. We strive to deliver this through a simple, beautiful and clean website that doesn't need you to wade through pages and pages of uninspiring pieces to find the item you desire.
How we keep our prices so low
We are sometimes horrified to see how much some of our competitors charge for the items we also sell. So, from our very first sale, we have been committed to bringing the same high quality items at realistic prices. Giving our customers the very best value is most important to us. What this means for you is that our prices are lower than many of our competitors - sometimes by hundreds of pounds - and we routinely confirm these to ensure our customers always get the very best value. But... if you've seen an item cheaper elsewhere, get in touch and we'll not only match but beat the price!
Responsive, friendly customer care
Buying online depends on trust. We know our customers buy from us in good faith and therefore should have all the information they need to be assured they will receive the item they ordered in a timely manner.
You can call us every day and email us any time - you'll usually get a response within a few hours. Our whizzy computer systems will send automated messages letting you know the progress of your order so you'll always be kept in the loop.
Deliveries
Key to the success and reputation of any online business is their delivery service. It has taken some time and energy to perfect this, building successful partnerships with local, professional delivery companies. For larger or fragile items, we use our own delivery people or independent delivery companies where the drivers own their business and take great pride in the service they provide. For smaller items we use couriers such as UPS making sure we package the items well to protect them.
When delivering larger items, our friendly and professional delivery drivers will always call you to agree a convenient time to make delivery. We will always confirm the day of delivery by email, text or phone.
