Making your purchase using our finance options is so simple. You can call/email us for a finance proposal, or do it all online yourself - here's a quick guide:
1. Fall in love
Compile an order of the things you love - finance is available on all orders over £250 and interest free is available on all orders over £1,200.
Enter your details and, on the payment page, select 'Divido'. You can use the widget to see all of the available payment plans and their costs.
3. Put the kettle on
Complete a short application. 30 seconds is the typical time it takes to be accepted.
4. Get excited..!
When you're accepted, we will get on with arranging delivery - it's that simple!
Who is eligible for finance?
Applying for an instalment plan is similar to applying for a new credit card. The details you provide are checked against public registers, such as credit rating agencies. To increase the chances of acceptance, ideally, you will have a good credit history (no late payments, or County Court Judgments etc) and meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be over 18 years of age
- Be working at least 16 hours per week
- Have 3 years of UK address history
- Have a UK bank account that can accept direct debits
- Delivery must be to the address that you put on the finance application, which should match your bank account's billing address.
How much will my repayments be?
That's easy. A small Divido 'widget' next to the product's price can help you to work out how much your monthly payments could be. You can use it to adjust your instalment length and deposit to find the right monthly payment for you.
The cost of credit is free for instalment plans of 6 and 12 months, but you need to put down a minimum deposit of 20%. For longer plans of up to 5 years, a rate of 12.9% interest applies and you don't need to put down any deposit. Here's a representative example for our Marcella Sideboard, costing £1,509:
- 6 monthly payments of £201.20 at 0% interest with £301.80 (20%) deposit – total payable: £1,509
- 12 monthly payments of £100.60 at 0% interest with £301.80 (20%) deposit – total payable: £1,509
- 12 monthly payments of £136.13 at 14.9% interest with £0 deposit – total payable: £1,633.54
- 24 monthly payments of £71.17 at 12.9% interest with £0 deposit – total payable: £1,708.11
- 36 monthly payments of £50.26 at 12.9% interest with £0 deposit – total payable: £1,809.39
- 48 monthly payments of £39.88 at 12.9% interest with £0 deposit – total payable: £1,914.35
- 60 monthly payments of £33.72 at 12.9% interest with £0 deposit – total payable: £2,022.94
How do I choose to pay in instalments?
Simply follow the checkout screens and when you arrive on the 'payment methods' page, select 'Divido'.
If you prefer, we can go through your application by phone - just call us on 0800 009 64 65. You will need an email address to receive the credit agreement form to sign digitally. If you prefer, email us and we'll do it all by email.
When will my repayments start?
Any deposit you want to put down will be taken upon ordering and our monthly repayments will begin two weeks after your items have been delivered.
Once my application is approved, what happens next?
Within minutes of your application being approved, you will be presented with the option to sign your credit agreement. You should read the credit agreement carefully before clicking all the relevant sections agreeing to its terms. Once you have agreed to the terms of the credit agreement, Shropshire Design and Divido will be notified and you need do nothing more.
Will you credit score me and if so, what does this mean?
Credit scoring is the process used by financial services companies to evaluate the credit risk of new applicants. This technique will be applied to your application for online finance. Credit scoring works by awarding points for each answer given on the application form such as age, income and occupation, together with information obtained from credit reference agencies. This information allows us to produce consistent decisions, ensuring all our applicants are treated fairly. The credit scoring process does not discriminate on the grounds of sex, race, religion or disability.
If you decline my application, what is the reason?
In addition to credit scoring, we also take into account confirmation of your identity, validation of certain application details, existing commitments and information held at the credit reference agencies. Though we are unable to provide you with the reasons for the decline of your application, it is usually based on a combination of the following:
- Your credit score
- Any adverse credit reference agency information
- You are considered to be financially overcommitted
- You are aged under 18
- Your existing account performance with other lenders
What type of information do credit reference agencies hold about me?
Some of the information is public information, for example electoral roll, bankruptcies and County Court Judgments. Other lenders may also file information about accounts you hold with them, and this could include your payment history and outstanding balance on these accounts. Any requests for credit, where a credit reference search has been undertaken, will also be filed, although the result of the request is not recorded.
How do I obtain a copy of this information?
You should send a cheque for £2.00 made payable to the relevant company, together with your name, date of birth and details of all addresses at which you have lived over the last 6 years:

- Equifax Limited, Credit File Advice Centre, PO Box 1140, Bradford, BD1 5US
- Consumer Services, Callcredit Limited, PO Box 491, Leeds, LS3 1WZ
The above listed agencies will provide details of your credit history. There are a range of online tools that can also provide analysis of your history and suggest why you may or may not be approved for credit - an industry-leading one is Experian, which is now free to use.
If my application is not successful, can I re-apply?
Yes. We acknowledge that your circumstances change and just because we have refused a previous application, it does not mean that we'll automatically turn down a further request. We do suggest, however, that you leave at least 6 months between applications.
Can I request delivery to an address other than my home?
No. In order to safeguard against fraudulent applications, we regret that we're able only to deliver goods to the home address of the applicant.
When can I expect delivery?
Deliveries for all orders are subject to the lead times shown on our website and the approximate delivery date shown on your order confirmation. However, for finance orders, once we have confirmation of approval there will be a 2 week processing period before we are able to release your goods. This overrides your approximate delivery date shown in your basket for any items that you ordered that were in stock and due for delivery in less than two weeks.
What if I want to cancel my order?
As we only start the instalment plan after the 14 day returns period has passed, you will not be charged until we know you'll be keeping the item.
